About Us
Hello, We are Anna and Nick Fasanello
We’re the Nellos behind the Mellowbeing!
We have chosen one another as partners in life, in parenthood, and in the privilaged and loving work of Mellowbeing Counseling owners. It never escapes us how important this work is.
We met as college students at the University of Montevallo. Our first bonding moments were made over our shared love of children, personality assessments and dreams of becoming counselors one day.
Mellowbeing’s Beginnings
It all begins with a name. And we thought about this for a long time! Outdoor walks and kitchen talks were filled with brainstorming over the perfect representation of what we hoped to create.
We wanted to incorporate part of our last name and played around with variations of “nello” until landing on it’s beautiful rhyme, “mellow”. We knew, based on definition, that it felt so right.
There is bravery and strength in being willing to show the softer more vulnerable parts of ourselves. It might just be the hardest and most important thing you ever do.
“Being” represents the humbleness of our humanity. We are all learning, discovering, struggling, and overcoming. We both believe with everything that we are that each individual is the expert of their own lives. We know mental health. You know YOU. And you are capable of transformative healing if given the warm and inviting space to access it.
mellow [ˈmɛləʊ] : softened or matured by age / experience. refers to a person’s character that has become more relaxed and free of tension.
being [ˈbēiNG] : existance, being alive, being present, the nature or essence of a person
The Counselor, the Client, the World
Our logo has meant many different things to different people. For some, it’s the Counselor, the parent and the child. For others it’s Generational Trauma. Fears, Triggers, Depression and Anxiety impacting generation after generation until it’s healed through the bravery to feel. Maybe it’s just the impact of living our truest selves. If anything, we do hope your healing is infectious in your relationships, your life, and your world. The work we do is important but the work you do is more powerful than you realize. We are honored to witness it.
